As part of the ISO/IEC 17000 series of conformity-assessment standards, ISO/IEC 17043 complements ISO/IEC 17025 and other standards by providing the means through which laboratories satisfy requirements to assure the validity of their results and demonstrate ongoing competence. Accreditation bodies operating under ISO/IEC 17011, often within the ILAC arrangement, accredit proficiency testing providers against ISO/IEC 17043.
