Every reliable measurement in the world traces back, one way or another, to something trusted: a certified value, a characterized material, an anchor point in the measurement chain. What is ISO 17034?

  • Production planning and control — documented plans covering material processing, packaging, labelling, and storage conditions for each reference material.
  • Homogeneity and stability assessment — statistically sound studies demonstrating that every unit is sufficiently uniform and that property values remain valid over the claimed shelf life and under transport conditions.
  • Characterization and value assignment — technically valid measurement strategies for assigning property values, with metrological traceability and rigorous estimation of uncertainty.
