Overview
Adding AI to a lesson is easy. Adding it in a way that improves learning, keeps students thinking for themselves and stays safe is harder. Much of the AI guidance written for schools deals with policy at institution level, which leaves the teacher with a blank lesson plan.
This toolkit works at lesson level. A design model takes each lesson through define, design, integrate AI, engage, assess, reflect and improve. A lesson framework, a set of AI roles with clear boundaries and a step-by-step lesson builder sit beside pedagogical approaches, student activities, differentiation, critical thinking and AI-aware assessment with rubrics. A prompt library gives ready-to-use prompts with placeholders and a verification note for each, and a lesson quality score workbook checks the finished lesson, with a responsible-AI override.
The design is consistent with the UNESCO AI competency frameworks for teachers and for students (2024). The responsible AI stance draws on UNESCO guidance for generative AI in education and research (2023), the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI (2021) and UNICEF guidance on AI and children (Version 3.0, 2025). The AI literacy module closely matches the OECD and European Commission AILit framework (2026). The toolkit is platform-neutral and recommends no AI vendor. It gives no legal advice, and its score tool is a design aid, not a validated measure of learning. Frameworks are referenced by title only, and no framework text is included. AGS is independent and is not affiliated with UNESCO, UNICEF, the OECD or the European Commission.

- AI integration: AI roles with boundaries and teacher responsibilities, a prompting framework and a two-volume prompt library.
- Learning activities: student activities, four-level differentiation and critical thinking.
- Assessment: AI-aware assessment with rubrics.
- AI literacy: an AI literacy framework with self-assessment workbooks.
- Responsible AI: a framework and forms for classroom rules, student agreements, a teacher checklist, activity approval, risk assessment and incident records, marked as drafting aids for local review.
- Quality: a ten-domain lesson quality system, the score workbook and a final lesson check.
- Rollout: a template pack, a quick-start guide, a training deck and a facilitator guide.
Who it's for
Teachers, lecturers, trainers and instructional designers in schools, higher education, vocational, corporate and adult education. Heads of department and quality leads can use the training deck and facilitator guide to roll the toolkit out across an institution.
For governance of AI across a school, see the School AI Quality & Governance Kit (English Edition). To track teacher and student competencies against the UNESCO frameworks, see the UNESCO AI Competency Management System - Teachers & Students.
