Overview
Before a model goes live, someone should be able to show what it was meant to do, how it was measured, where it fails and who accepted it. This system gives that work a structure. It governs technical evaluation without performing it: qualified evaluators or tools produce the results, and the documents record them exactly as provided. No result may be estimated, invented or filled in after the fact.
Task-specific assessment sets cover regression, classification, detection, segmentation, and identification and verification. Each comes with a test plan, assessment workbook, result register and report. Bias, fairness and robustness assessments, limitations records and model acceptance decisions follow, then monitoring and reassessment after release.
An AI assurance control framework is cross-referenced to ISO/IEC TS 4213:2022, ISO/IEC TR 24027:2021 and ISO/IEC TR 24029-1:2021, with a mapping workbook to the NIST AI RMF 1.0. Standards are referenced by number and title only, and no standard text is included.
What this system covers
- Assessment governance: a governance framework, assessment and model-acceptance authority matrices, an assessment independence record, RACI and management review.
- Policies and procedures from intended use through requirements, metrics, acceptance criteria, evaluation data, result review, error analysis, bias, fairness, robustness, limitations, acceptance, monitoring, change review, reassessment and evidence.
- Requirements and data: requirement, metric and acceptance-criteria registers, and an evaluation dataset profile, suitability checklist and approval.
- Task-specific assessment sets for regression, classification (with a confusion-matrix template), detection, segmentation, and identification and verification.
- Bias, fairness and robustness: error analysis, bias assessment, fairness assessment with subgroup performance comparison, robustness assessment, and limitations and unsupported-use records.
- Decisions and monitoring: accept, conditional acceptance, rejection and release records, drift governance, monitoring and reassessment triggers.
- Evidence and assurance: a model assurance evidence pack, end-to-end traceability, self-assessment, maturity and gap assessment, readiness review and a 90-day plan.
Who it's for
Organisations that build, tune or buy machine-learning models and must show that performance, bias and robustness were assessed before and after release. The system is owned by an AI assurance lead. Designated acceptance authorities decide on models, and data scientists and model risk teams work from the evidence pack.
It pairs with the AI Resilience Testing Management System, which governs how robustness and stress tests are authorised and followed up.
