Overview
A supermarket runs several food businesses under one roof: deli, bakery, meat, poultry and seafood counters, sushi, produce, prepared foods and rotisserie. Each has its own hazards, and the store answers to a state, county or city health department that may have adopted a different Food Code edition, with local amendments.
A department activation matrix lets each store switch on only the departments it runs, with the matching programmes, checklists and illustrative hazard models. Temperatures and times are left as bracketed fields tied to Food Code sections, so the store enters the values its jurisdiction has adopted. Store names and store numbers appear in every footer, and an implementation roadmap includes a multi-store framework for rollout and oversight across several stores.
The files reference the FDA Food Code 2022, with the Supplement to the 2022 Food Code (published November 2024, corrected December 2024) where noted. The reference library notes that FDA has since published the 2026 edition and asks the store to confirm sections against the edition its jurisdiction adopted. AGS is independent and is not affiliated with the FDA or any state or local health department. Regulations and the Food Code are referenced by citation, and no regulation or Food Code text is included.

Who it's for
U.S. supermarkets, grocery and convenience stores, specialty markets and multi-store operators. The person in charge and the food protection manager have defined roles, and head office can use the multi-store framework to oversee several sites.
For restaurants and food service, see the U.S. Restaurant Food Safety Management System (FDA Food Code). For a Codex-based system, see the HACCP Retail & Wholesale Management System.
