Overview
UAE entities are expected to work to the national business continuity standard, not only to ISO 22301. The clause structure and the issuing authority differ, so a system mapped to a different standard can leave gaps when the evidence is reviewed. This system follows the clause structure of AE/SCNS/NCEMA 7000:2021 from Clause 3 to Clause 10.
It is written as your organisation's operating system, with your name left as a placeholder. A manual covers the whole system and maps it to the standard clause by clause. One procedure covers each requirement area, supported by forms, checklists, guidance, role-based training and a master index with a clause-by-clause compliance matrix. Where the standard sets a requirement, the documents cite the clause and send you to the standard rather than reproducing it.
The guidance is practical: common failure modes for each clause, advice on facilitating a business impact analysis, and an implementation roadmap ordered by dependency. ISO 22301:2019 and ISO 31000:2018 are used as informative references. Standards are referenced by number and title only, and no standard text is included. AGS is independent and is not affiliated with NCEMA.
What this system covers
- Governance and context: context of the organisation, leadership, policy, scope, objectives and roles.
- Support: competence, awareness, resources, external providers, communication, change control and documented information, with the Clause 7.3 documented information matrix.
- Business impact analysis and risk: BIA and risk assessment procedures, with guidance on both methods.
- Strategy and response: strategy selection and strategy options, response structure, incident command, crisis communication, technology recovery and resumption.
- Exercising and testing: a procedure and exercise design guidance for planning, running and reviewing exercises.
- Performance and improvement: a set of performance indicators, internal audit, management review and corrective action.
- Guidance and training: a clause-by-clause interpretation guide, a glossary, an implementation roadmap, and role-based training with a question bank.
Who it's for
UAE entities and related bodies applying AE/SCNS/NCEMA 7000:2021. The roles named include the CEO, the Business Continuity Steering Committee, the BC Manager and Coordinator, department heads, incident and recovery teams, and the internal audit team.
If you need a business continuity system on the international standard instead, the ISO 22301-2019-Business Continuity Management System covers it with much the same content in the ISO clause structure.
