Overview

An integrated Halal Assurance System for warehousing, distribution and transport, so one documented system answers the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO), Malaysia's JAKIM, Indonesia's SJPH under BPJPH, the OIC/SMIIC standards and the UAE national standard (UAE.S) at once. Where the five diverge it takes the strictest common criteria, and conformity can still be shown to each authority in its own terms. Accredited or mutually recognised certification bodies assess the combined requirements, maintained through surveillance.

The content follows the goods rather than the office: segregated storage zones, racking and container controls that keep Halal and non-Halal stock from contact, cleaning and, where prohibited materials have been carried, ritual cleansing (sertu) of vehicles and equipment, co-loading restrictions in transport, and the seals, labelling and shipment documentation that hold Halal identity from receipt to delivery. An internal Halal committee approves suppliers and goods, audits, trains handling staff and closes corrective actions between external assessments.

What this system covers

  • Segregation and storage zoning — areas, racking and containers that keep Halal and non-Halal stock apart
  • Incoming consignment integrity — verification at receipt, identification of non-Halal material, quarantine decisions
  • Storage conditions and cold chain — temperature monitoring, stock rotation, returns and controlled disposal
  • Cleaning and ritual cleansing (sertu) — vehicles, handling equipment and surfaces exposed to prohibited materials
  • Dispatch, loading and transport — vehicle verification, co-loading limits, seals and shipment documentation
  • Traceability and recall — a chase system from consignment to dispatch, with contamination handling
  • Outsourced providers — third-party warehousing and hauliers operating inside your Halal scope
  • Multi-regime auditing — the combined criteria, plus GSO and UAE.S, JAKIM and SJPH, and SMIIC separately

Who it's for

Logistics operators, cold-store and third-party warehouse providers and Halal distributors moving product across the Gulf, the UAE, OIC member states, Malaysia and Indonesia. The trigger is a certification body assessment, a contract demanding recognition under more than one scheme, or the audit fatigue of separate documentation per market. You end with one system and one record trail that any of the five assessors can work from.
