Overview

EN 16636 is the European standard for pest management services, and CEPA Certified is the accredited scheme built directly on it, administered under the auspices of the Confederation of European Pest Management Associations. This documentation runs that scheme with ISO 9001 over it, so leadership, the process approach, competence and continual improvement sit above the EN 16636 requirements for professional conduct, defined service processes, appropriate equipment and environmental responsibility. A scheme framework and cross-reference matrix connect the two, with a separate UAE regulatory and municipal compliance manual for providers working under municipal registration.

The service chain is written the way technicians work it: enquiry, site survey and pest risk assessment, pest identification, control methods that prioritise prevention and non-chemical techniques, correct use of approved biocidal products, monitoring and review. Around it sit the controls that keep the work lawful and safe, from pesticide storage and transport through calibration, PPE, waste disposal and technician competence. Pest control also underpins food-safety prerequisite programmes such as HACCP, and the treatment and application records here are what a food-processing client asks to see.

What this system covers

  • Site survey and pest risk assessment — conducive conditions and the basis of the treatment plan
  • Integrated pest management — prevention and non-chemical techniques before any biocidal intervention
  • Pesticide application — approved products, dose and method, and the client treatment report
  • Storage, handling and transport — segregated stores, chemical inventory and store inspection
  • Operator safety — PPE and readiness, equipment calibration, vehicle checks and waste disposal
  • Technician competence — induction, training matrix, toolbox talks and supervision
  • UAE municipal compliance — company classification, registration and municipal inspection readiness
  • Management discipline under ISO 9001 — internal audit, management review, corrective action, supplier control

Who it's for

Pest management providers and their supervisors, technical managers and quality leads, serving domestic, commercial, industrial, food-processing and public-sector sites. The trigger is a CEPA Certified audit by an accredited certification body, a UAE municipal registration or renewal, or a client tender that asks for documented integrated pest management. What follows is a service with evidenced technicians and a record trail that holds up in audits and tenders.
