Overview

Knowing halal well is not the same as teaching it well. A trainer has to manage adult learners, run practicals safely, handle sensitive topics and know where training stops and consultancy begins. This course covers those skills and the rules for delivering the AGS halal portfolio, including which Sharia questions must be referred rather than answered.

The package holds a slide deck with notes, a trainee workbook with templates including a micro-teaching rubric and trainer report, an exam pack with keys, and a certificate template. A technical pre-test drawn from the course question banks is required at 80% for each course a trainer will deliver. The lead trainer assembles it, and it is not supplied.

The certificate records training only. Authorisation to deliver is given by the trainer's own organisation after co-delivery and an observed delivery. It is not given by AGS. The course refers to the standards used across the halal portfolio, including the GSO 2055 series, GSO 993, OIC/SMIIC 1, OIC/SMIIC 24, MS 1500, MS 2424 and GSO 2680, with ISO 19011 for communication principles. Standards are referenced by number and title only, and no standard text is included. AGS is independent and is not affiliated with any halal certification body or standards organisation.

What this course covers

  • The trainer's role: the line between training and consultancy.
  • Adult learning: what it means for delivery.
  • The halal portfolio: how each AGS halal training package is built and used.
  • Technical content: staying within the material and referring Sharia questions.
  • Preparation and facilitation: getting ready to deliver and running the room.
  • Checks, role-plays and practicals: including the slaughter practical.
  • Assessment and evaluation: assessment and certificates, sensitive topics, course evaluation and version control.
  • Micro-teaching: the assessed delivery that closes the course.

Who it's for

Candidates for authorisation as halal trainers, halal auditors, executives and slaughter supervisors moving into training, and food safety trainers extending into halal. Because the course is built around the AGS halal training packages, it suits an organisation that delivers them through its own trainer network.

It pairs with the Training Centre Quality Management System (ISO 21001, 29993, 9001) for running the training organisation itself.
