Overview
UAE.S GSO 995:2021 regulates the sweeteners permitted in foodstuffs and sets maximum use levels by food category, so compliance is a matter of matching an ingredient to a category and to a figure. The workbench runs that sequence — identify the sweetener, whether aspartame, sucralose, acesulfame-K, steviol glycosides or the polyols, select the food category, verify the permitted maximum and its conditions, record the verdict. Labelling is settled in the same pass: phenylalanine warnings where aspartame is present, laxative-effect statements where polyols are used. Records print from one offline file.
What it does
- Sweetener identification across intense sweeteners and polyols
- Food-category selection and the maximum use level permitted in it
- Conditions on a permitted level, and the position when a formulation exceeds it
- Mandatory label statements — phenylalanine warnings and laxative-effect wording
- Verdicts documented for registration, inspection and dispute resolution
Who it's for
Beverage and confectionery formulators working on sugar-free and diet lines, importers of reduced-sugar products, regulatory-affairs teams preparing Gulf registrations, and inspectors running sweetener checks. It is bought when a use level or a warning statement is queried, and leaves a record of what was permitted against what was declared.
