Overview
A halal certificate rests on a system, not on a single product. A certification body expects management commitment, a working committee, controls where halal status could be lost, and records that prove they work. This course teaches a team to build that system and run it through internal audit, management review and the certification cycle.
It ends in a HAS design workshop, so the outputs are a site's first HAS drafts. The trainee workbook carries templates for a halal policy, committee terms of reference, a halal control point (HCP) register with a worked gelatine row, an internal audit checklist, a management review agenda and a 90-day plan. The audit checklist is completed from your certification body's own checklist. The package also holds a slide deck with notes, an exam pack with keys and a certificate template that records training given by your organisation.
The course refers to MS 1500:2019 for management duties and premises, and to OIC/SMIIC 1:2019 and GSO 2055-1:2015 for system requirements, with GSO 2055-2:2021 for what the certification body applies. Standards are referenced by number and title only, and no standard text is included. AGS is independent and is not affiliated with any halal certification body or standards organisation.
What this course covers
- Management and the committee: management duties, committee membership and terms of reference.
- Halal control points: finding where halal status could be lost and recording each control in the HCP register.
- Materials and suppliers: approving materials and suppliers and keeping their evidence valid.
- Premises, production, storage and transport: segregation, cleaning and control of the halal mark.
- Documentation, traceability and training: the records behind the system.
- Review and improvement: internal audit, corrective action and management review.
- The certification cycle: the three-year cycle, followed by the design workshop.
Who it's for
Halal executives and officers, Internal Halal Committee members, quality and food safety managers, and site managers at sites preparing for Stage 1 or already holding a halal certificate.
It pairs with the live HAS kits, such as UAE.S HAS - Warehouses & Distribution, which supply the documents this course teaches a team to run. The Halal Internal Auditor Training Package takes the next step into auditing the system.
