Overview

Feed integrity underpins the Halal status of everything downstream of it, so this system documents what a mill must prove: the permissibility of feed materials, exclusion of porcine derivatives, blood meal and other prohibited inputs, and prevention of cross-contamination through intake, milling, mixing and storage. It runs under the United Arab Emirates national Halal scheme, whose UAE.S standards adopt the GSO 2055 framework under the Emirati standardisation and conformity authorities, aligning UAE requirements with the wider Gulf system while national oversight is retained.

The pressure point is formulation: a premix or additive can carry an animal-derived component the finished feed specification never names, so each material is risk-assessed and approved before it enters a formula, and re-approved when its supplier or origin changes. Checklists work to UAE.S GSO 2578:2021 for Halal feed, UAE.S GSO 2055-1:2015 and UAE.S 993:2022 for inputs of animal origin. The internal Halal committee owns those decisions and the corrective actions raised between external assessments.

What this system covers

  • Ingredient permissibility: feed materials, additives and premixes screened against porcine derivatives and blood meal, with tazkeya evidence for animal-origin inputs
  • Supplier approval and goods-receipt verification, with a Halal risk assessment held per material
  • Formulation and mixing, with each batch monitored and premix addition recorded against the approved formula
  • Segregation at intake, milling, mixing and storage, using dedicated lines, changeover rules and verified cleaning
  • Bulk handling: bin and silo allocation, tanker and blowing-line control, bagged and bulk feed identified apart
  • Labelling and claim control, with artwork approved and supplier declarations behind the claim
  • Traceability and recall, from supplier lot through formulation to delivered batch
  • Internal Halal audit and management review, with sourcing and production competence assessed for mill staff

Who it's for

Feed mills, premix blenders and compound feed producers seeking Halal certification in the UAE, often because a certified livestock, poultry or dairy customer now requires Halal-assured feed, and certified mills preparing for surveillance. They finish able to defend a permissibility decision for every formulation, evidence the origin of each premix and animal-derived additive, and show the line was released between non-Halal and Halal runs when an accredited or UAE-approved certification body assesses system and product conformity.
